The Main Menu
If the main menu is closed, you open it via the menu icon (the three stacked bars) at the top left of the application.
To close the menu, simply click anywhere outside the menu.
Fixing the menu
If the menu is open, you'll be able to fix or release it by clicking on the menu icon again. The fixed menu remains on the left edge of the screen when you navigate. Otherwise, it closes automatically.
Projects in main menu
In addition to the main menu items above, awork shows you a few projects directly in the main menu.
These are your currently running projects. That is, projects to which you are assigned and which are in an ongoing (yellow) status.
The number of projects displayed depends on how much space is available on your screen. More projects are displayed on large monitors than on small ones.
With the search field directly above the projects, you'll be able to search through all your projects in case a project you want is not displayed at the moment.
Using the small star icon to the left of the project name, you can mark or remove individual projects as favorites. These favorites are then fixed in the main menu and are permanently visible there.
In the settings, you'll find access to the various settings pages in awork, e.g., to create categories or templates, to manage the booked plan, to add new integrations, or to invite new users.
Click on the button at the bottom of the main menu to access our help menu. From here, you can access our help center, start our support chat on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., or submit an error or feedback ticket.
I don't see all the specified menu items. What can I do?
The menu items are linked to the user rights you have in your awork workspace. If you do not see some menu items, it is because you do not have sufficient rights to view them.
The best way is to contact your internal awork administrator.
The App Header
The app header is located at the top of your screen. It contains the button for the main menu, the title of the currently displayed page, as well as your user menu, your current notifications, and quick access to create new tasks, projects, and times.
The page title also has a very handy function: Clicking on the title opens a menu with the 5 most recently viewed pages in awork. This allows you to quickly and easily jump back and forth between pages.
You'll find the user menu on the far right by clicking on your profile picture or your initials. From here, you'll be able to access your profile settings, where you can, for example, edit your user, change your password or adjust your notifications.
Directly in the user menu, you'll also be able to change the language, switch to another workspace (if you are in multiple awork workspaces with the same account), or switch between dark and light mode.
You will find sub-navigations on some pages in awork, mostly in the middle above the page content. With these tabs, you're able to navigate between different subpages, which usually belong to the same area, such as within a project.
On some pages, you will find the possibility to change the view. You are then able to switch between the views. awork remembers the selected view for your user so that you'll start with the same task view of a project when you open it again.
Almost everywhere in awork, you will find a button with the three dots, the action button, at the right edge of lists or at the top right of detailed views. You can use this button to access the action menu where you're able to edit, delete or copy the respective object.
