With the help of Zapier, it is possible to connect awork with a lot of other applications - without having to write code yourself.

Zapier is a service for integrating different tools and works both ways. You will be able to transfer information from awork to another application, or you will use information from another application and apply it to awork.

General information

For this purpose, there is a dedicated awork Zapier app at Zapier. This offers pre-built triggers & actions. An action in Zapier is an action like creating a task in awork. A Trigger is a trigger in awork, such as creating a new time, which can then be intercepted by another app.

In the awork Zapier integration, the following Triggers & Actions are available:

Trigger

  • New task created

  • New time entered

  • Time entry updated

Actions

  • Create a new project

  • Create a new company

  • Create a new project task

  • Create a new customer

Setting up your own "Zap"

In Zapier, automated workflows consisting of a trigger and an action are referred to as a "Zap".

Here's how to create your first Zap:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in your awork workspace. Open the integration library here and select Zapier from the API Connectors category. Click on the Set Up Integration button to be redirected to Zapier.

  2. Now create a Zapier account. Zapier offers a free version that includes all the necessary basic functions. You have the option to sign up via email or with Google.

  3. Follow the Zapier setup to focus on your daily apps.

  4. Letโ€™s Zap! The Zapier window opens and here you can get creative. awork has already been created for you as a Zap connection. You can now choose an app of your choice that you want to connect with awork by clicking on the gray plus.

  5. In the next step, you will be given a selection of triggers and actions between awork and the app. Choose the events you want to trigger here.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸปYou will be prompted to log into the respective accounts of your apps via the Continue button.

  6. Triggers and actions are summarized again. The selected settings must then be confirmed and tested in several steps.

  7. Give your Zap a name and set it to Publish. Done! Your first Zap is online and can be tested directly in your workspace. ๐Ÿš€

Set up Zapier via the awork Webhooks

If you want to transfer information from awork that we don't provide standardized in our Zapier app, you will have to use Zapier's webhooks integration. To do so, go to zapier.com and select Webhooks as the trigger.

Then select the option Catch Hook

Then the URL will be displayed. You have to enter this URL into a webhook in awork. We explain how to do that here.

Now you have to add a filter and specify the details that should trigger the zap, e.g., the task status. Now you can continue as described above.
