Yes this is possible. Just hit or type the @ in the task details or project details activity log.

Can I tag users in tasks or projects?
Create new Tasks
There are different ways to create a task in awork. You can do it via "My Tasks" or within a project.
Create a new Task
Just click the "+" button in the "My Tasks" view.
You can set the following fields:
- Name of the task
- Assign the task to a project
- Assign the task to a user
- Set deadline
- Set type of work
- Save task
- Close window (slide down)
Tasks that are created without a project are shown in the private task list in "My Tasks". They can be assigned to a project at any time. (Private tasks are only visible for the assigned user, be careful with assigning to project, because the task will get visible for more users.)
Set Task Details
Assign Project
You can either search for the project (1) or scroll through the list of all active projects (2). If the project does not exist yet, you can create one (3). To close the window, tap the "x" (4) button.
Assign User
You can either search for a user (1) or scroll through the list of users (2). If the person you want to assign is not yet part of your workspace, you can invite the user (3) from this screen. To close the window, tap the "x" (4) button.
Set a Deadline
The first screen gives you the option to select a date (1) or select a preset timeframe (2). You can swipe left and right through the different months or close the window via the "x" (3) button.
Now you can select (scroll) a time or select a preset (2)
Edit Tasks within Lists
To edit the task directly in the list view just swipe the task to the right. Now you have the option to set an assignee, change the deadline or start a timer. You can of course also use the task details to edit a task.
You can also edit the task status from the list view.
Create task list
You can create a new task list within the app if you go to the details page of a project. Just tap "Manage Task Lists" and select "Add new list". Now type the name and press done. The list is now ready and you can create task within the list.
Set Task Status
The task status can be changed directly from the task list in the task overview or project details. Just tap the field left of the task name and select the status you want.
You can also change the task status within the task details.
Task Overview
The task overview shows all the tasks where the user is the assignee. The tasks are shown within lists. In the standard view, the first list shows the private tasks (1). These are tasks which are not connected to a project. Right below there are more lists for each project (2) that contain tasks assigned to you. Tapping the project name will forward you to the project details.
Tapping the name of the task (3) opens the task details. You can see the deadline (4) of each task directly in the list. If you swipe to the left (5) there are options to change the assignee, change the deadline or start a timer. The circle (6) gives you the option to change the task status or mark a task done.
If you want to create a new task, just tap the "+" (7) button.
Group and sort task list
While the standard view is grouped by project you can change this view and group by:
- Project
- Project type
- Type of work
- Upcoming daily
- Upcoming weekly
- Upcoming monthly
- No grouping
The groups can be sorted by:
- Type of work
- Due on
- Created on
- Planned duration
- Task status
To set the grouping/sorting just tap on the icons at the top of the screen.
Projects
Create new Project
There are different ways to create new projects in awork. You can this in the "My Projects" view or while creating a task.
Create a new Project
Go to the project overview and tap the "+" button.
Now you can set the following options:
- Name of the project
- Project team
- Customer for the project
- Set project type
- Set deadline
- Save project
- Close windows / cancel (slide down)
Set Project Details
Assign Project Team
You can either search for a user (1), scroll through the list of all users (2) or invite a new user to your workspace (3). To close the window, tap the "x" (4).
Afterwards you need to select the project role (1) for the team member.
Assign Client to Project
You can either search for a client (1), scroll through the list of all clients (2) or create a new client for your workspace (3). To close the window, tap the "x" (4).
Set Project Type
You can scroll through your project types (1) and change the type.
Tip: New project types can only be created in the web app.
Set a Deadline
First choose a date (1). You can switch between months by swiping left and right. Furthermore awork suggests prepared timeframes like tomorrow or in two weeks (2). You can close the window via the "x" (3).
You can choose a time via scrolling (1) or use a recommended time (2).
Manage Project Details
To manage the project details tap on the project name on the project details page.
You can edit the following information:
- Edit project name
- Edit project description
- Change project type
- Change client
- Assign project team
- Set deadline
- Set planned effort (hours or days / 1 day = 8 hours)
- Edit task lists (create new lists / reorder lists)
- Activity log of the project
- Delete project
- Comment on project
- Change project status
- Close pop-up
Project Overview
The project overview shows all the projects from your workspace. You can switch between three views (1):
- Active: Shows all active project (yellow status name)
- My Active: Shows active projects where the user is part of the project team
- All: Shows all project (No matter which status is set)
Each project shows the name, customer and status (2). You can go to the project details with a tap on the project name (2).
Tap on the "+" (3) icon to create a new project.
Projectdetails
To open the project details tap on a project name in the project overview of my task list.
There are the following options:
- Edit project details
- Task lists
- Create task in task list
- Project tasks (Open details with a tap)
- Task Deadline
- Quick Edit, via swipe to the left
- Assign User
- Set Deadline
- Start timer
- Create new task
- Number of open tasks (swipe down to see this)
- Show done tasks (swipe down to see this)

Time Tracking
Create Time Tracking Entry
The awork app allows you to track times in multiple ways:
- Time Tracking via Timer
- Manual Time Tracking
- Time Tracking via Tasklist
Time Tracking via Timer
To start a timer, tap on the play symbol in the time tracking overview. You can now set a project, task, etc. or just close the pop-up and the timer will continue to run. You will always see the progress of your timer in the app menu at the bottom.
You can open your timer at any time, to add a note, project, tasks, mark the entry as billable or change the task type.
To stop the timer just tap the stop button.
Manual Time Tracking
To track time manually you tap on the play button. You now ignore the timer that starts right away and set either a duration or an end date for your entry. You can set the other fields like project, task, task type, etc., too. If you tap on save the timer will stop and the time entry will appear in the list.
Time Tracking via Tasklist
To track times in the my tasks view, via project task list or via search just swipe the task to the left. Now you can tap the play button. If the timer is running, the play button will switch to a stop button. You can also stop the timer via the time tracking overview or by starting the timer for another task.
Edit Tracked Times
You can edit tracked times via the time tracking overview.
You can edit the following fields:
- Add / Edit a note
- Set task type
- Set date
- Set start time
- Set end to end time (You should only set an End Time or Duration)
- Set duration (You should only set an End Time or Duration)
- Select project
- Select task
- Mark entry as billable
- Mark entry as billed
- Delete entry
- Close entry
Time Tracking Overview
The time tracking overview shows all your tracked times grouped by day.
You can switch between days on top of the page (1). awork also shows you how much time you tracked each day. You can switch between weeks via swiping to the left or right.
Below there is a graph that shows how much time is tracked on a certain day (2). The full day is 8 hours.
In the middle there is a list of all time tracking entries (3). When you tap them, you will be able to edit each entry.
The play button (4) starts an new time tracking.
Notifications

To always keep you up to date awork offers multiple ways to get notifications:
- Notification overview
- Push-Notifications
- In-App Notifications
Tipp: Your notification settings can only be managed inside the web app.
Notification Overview
The notification overview shows all your notifications in chronological order. Similar notifications, e.g. one person assigning you multiple tasks, will be grouped (1).
Unread notifications are marked with a red dot (2). The number on the bottom of the page shows the amount of new notifications (3).
If you tap a notification (4), it will be marked as read and the element, e.h. projectdetails or taskdetails, will open and you can edit them.
Push-Notifications
If the app is closed you will get normal push notifications on your phone.
In-App Notifications
If you get a notification while the app is open, you will see a banner on top of your screen. You can click it to navigate to the entity or just ignore it and look at it later in the notification overview.
Search
Search within the app
You can find the search in the menu to the right.
awork will suggest the most relevant elements for your search (1), but you can also just start a new search (2).
If you click on a search result, the element (e.g. task, project, etc.) will open directly from search. This way you can directly edit e.g. tasks or projects without leaving the search.
